O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
