Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
