Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 while you make merry? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
