Thamud denied the warning 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 (We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar. 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 For he had truly warned them of Our punishing might; but they stubbornly cast doubt on these warnings, 36 And assuredly they solicited him for his guests: then We wiped out their eyes: taste then My torment and My warnings. 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
