The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 So that is a tough day. 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 He looked (at others); 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
