NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
