The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ O believers, advance not before God and His Messenger; and fear God. God is All-hearing, All-knowing. 1 O you who believe! do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak loud to him as you speak loud to one another, lest your deeds became null while you do not perceive. 2 Those who lower their voices in the presence of God's Messenger are men whose hearts God has tested for piety, they shall have forgiveness and a great reward, 3 Those who shout out to thee from without the inner apartments - most of them lack understanding. 4 And if they wait patiently until you come out to them, it would certainly be better for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 5 O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. 6 And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. 7 Through grace from Allah and His favour; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. 8 Hence, if two groups of believers fall to fighting, make peace between them; but then, if one of the two [groups] goes on acting wrongfully towards the other, fight against the one that acts wrongfully until it reverts to God's commandment; and if they revert, make peace between them with justice, and deal equitably [with them]: for verily, God loves those who act equitably! 9 Believers are indeed brothers, therefore make things right among your two brothers and fear Allah, so that you will be subject to mercy. 10
