In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him – We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy, 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
