In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
