Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
