And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 But they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 Moses said, 'What prevented thee, Aaron, when thou sawest them in error, 92 “That you did not come after me? So did you disobey my order?” 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He said: I perceived what they perceive not, so I seized a handful from the footsteps of the messenger, and then threw it in. Thus my soul commended to me. 96 Musa said: begone thou! verily it shall be thine in life to say no contact; and verily thine is an appointment which thou shalt by no means fail. And look at thy god to which thou hast been assiduous; we shall surely burn it, and we shall scatter it into the sea a wide scattering. 97 Your only deity is God - He save whom there is no deity, [and who] embraces all things within His knowledge!" 98 And so We narrate to you the stories of the past, and We have given you a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever disregards (the Quran) will be heavily burdened with sin on the Day of Judgment 100 they will abide in this [state,] and grievous for them will be the weight [of that burden] on the Day of Resurrection 101 On the day when the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the guilty, blue-eyed, on that day 102 In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." 103 We know best what they say, when the fairest of them in course would say: You tarried but a day. 104
