And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 We glorify God." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
