The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. 1 Yet if they see a sign (the unbelievers) turn their backs and say: 'This is but a continuation of sorcery' 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention-- 4 The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit? 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day." 8 ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 And We made the earth break forth with springs; so that the water met for an affair already decreed. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 which sailed on under Our supervision: a reward for him who had been shown ingratitude. 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 How [dreadful] was My punishment and My warning! 21 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 22

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
