And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
