Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 What, would they then say: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
