(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
