He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And olives and palms 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
