The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
