The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
