The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
