The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who created and proportioned 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall teach you (the Quran) and you will not forget it 6 Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. 7 And We shall create the means of ease for you. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder benefits, 9 He who fears (Allah) shall heed it, 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islamic Monotheism) shall achieve success, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 But you prefer the life of this world, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
