Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
