Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a high Garden. 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
