Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
