Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 Thamud, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
