۞ And those who do not hope for Our meeting, say: Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see our Lord? Now certainly they are too proud of themselves and have revolted in great revolt. 21 The Day whereon they shall behold the angels on that day there will be no joy for the culprits, and they will say: away! away! 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 Those who have earned the Garden on that day will be better in their home and happier in their place of noonday rest; 24 And the day when the sky will be split asunder with clouds and the angels will be sent down in full. 25 The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers. 26 And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. 27 Alas, would that I had not taken So-and-so for a friend! 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned." 30 Even so have We appointed unto every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but Allah sufficeth for a Guide and Helper. 31 The unbelievers say: "Why was the whole Qur'an not sent down all at once to him?" It was sent thus that We may keep your heart resolute. So We enunciated it by steps and distinctly. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 [And so, tell those who are bent on denying the truth that] they who shall be gathered unto hell upon their faces - it is they who [in the life to come] will be worst in station and still farther astray from the path [of truth]! 34
