And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
