Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
