Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
