The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
