And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
