Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 As for the believers who do good works and believe in what is sent down to Muhammad which is the truth from their Lord He will acquit them of their sins and repair their condition. 2 This, because they who are bent on denying the truth pursue falsehood, whereas they who have attained to faith pursue [but] the truth [that flows] from their Sustainer. In this way does God set forth unto man the parables of their true state. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 He will guide them and set right their state. 5 And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them (i.e. they will know their places in Paradise more than they used to know their houses in the world). 6 O you who have attained to faith! If you help [the cause of] God, He will help you, and will make firm your steps; 7 but as for those who are bent on denying the truth, ill fortune awaits them, since He will let all their [good] deeds go to waste: 8 That is because they detest that which Allah hath sent down, and so He shall make of non-effect their works. 9 ۞ What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? God destroyed them; the unbelievers shall have the likes thereof. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them. 11
