Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 to burn therein. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
