Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is fatigued. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
