The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
