Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
