T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 "And I have chosen you. So listen to that which is inspired to you. 13 Verily I am Allah. There is no god beside Me. So serve Me and establish Prayers to remember Me. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
