The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Requital corresponding. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
