The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
