The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 Who believe in the Unknown and fulfil their devotional obligations, and spend in charity of what We have given them; 3 And who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, [O Prophet,] as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time: for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
