Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
