Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
