The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
