Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are verses of the wise Book. 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
