The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
