The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
