The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This is The Book free of doubt and involution, a guidance for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path, 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur). 7
