The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 The Roman Empire has been defeated- 2 in the nearer part of the land; and, after their vanquishing, they shall be the victors 3 Within a few years. Allah's is the command before and after; and on that day the believers shall rejoice, 4 In the help of God. He helps whom He will; He is all-mighty, ever-merciful. 5 This is Allah's promise; and Allah faileth not His promise. Yet most men know not. 6 they only know the outward appearance of the life of this world, and they are neglectful of the Hereafter. 7 Have they not thought that God has not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them but for a genuine purpose to exist for an appointed term? Many people do not believe in their meeting with their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land and seen what end their predecessors met? They were mightier than them: they cultivated the earth more and built more upon it than these have ever built. Their own messengers also came to them with clear signs: God did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. 9 Then the end of those that did evil was evil, for that they cried lies to the signs of God and mocked at them. 10
