Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 worship (God) for a few hours at night. 2 Half of it,- or a little less, 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Verily the rising by night! it is most curbing and most conducive to right speech. 6 Verily there is for thee by day occupation prolonged. 7 So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion - 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He; so take Him for a Guardian. 9 Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them. 10 And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little. 11 Verily with Us are heavy fetters and Scorch. 12 choking food and a painful punishment. 13 upon the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains become a slipping heap of sand. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing. 16 If you persist in denying the truth how will you escape the Day that will turn the children's hair grey. 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
