The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
